Porvorim, Aug 13: A two-day study programme will be undertaken by BJP for the newly inducted 10 MLAs from Congress. This programme will be undertaken to teach the new members about BJP's ideologies and principles.
The two-day study programme will be taking place on August 16 and 17, according to the state BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP, Vinay Tendulkar.
Many politicians are of the opinion that this method would not help in controlling the newly inducted MLAs, however, BJP begs to differ.
In a first, the legislator strength includes over 50 per cent of MLAs belonging to Minorities. Over 15 of the 27 BJP MLAs are catholic, 8 out of the 10 inducted ex-Congress MLAs are Catholic.
The 10 MLAs quit Congress on July 10 and joined BJP, increasing the saffron party’s strength in the 40-member House from 17 to 27.
