Bengaluru, Aug 13: The BJP, which was fully geared up to prepare the budget, has been hit by unexpected rain and devastation. The government has vote on account for three months and it has to present the budget in September or October. It may now be forced to present budget during January next year. In the meanwhile, the government, which is yet to see a full-fledged ministry, is busy attending to flood-related problems.

Chief minister Yediyurappa has expressed difficulty in pooling resources for repairing damage to infrastructure facilities as the state government's financial condition is not very good.

The train services between Mangaluru and Bengaluru are likely to be hit for a month as landslides have been experienced on the tracks near Siribagilu at 15 spots.

The union government has decided that, to facilitate vehicles carrying relief materials on national highway 48 from Pune to Bengaluru for a distance of 860 km between Pune and Bengaluru, temporarily toll charges would not be collected for them. This was informed by union minister for highways, Nitin Gadkari, in a tweet.

In the meantime, the meteorological department has predicted chances of rain again in the state in three to four days. It has observed movement of cyclonic storms in the Bay of Bengal, which it expects to affect coastal areas and south interior Karnataka. However, its effect would be minimal in north interior Karnataka, the department stated.
