Mangaluru, Aug 12: Former district-in-charge minister U T Khader said that the government should declare Beltangady taluk as the worst flood-affected taluk.
Addressing media here on Monday August 12, U T Khader said, "Due to heavy rain several properties, agricultural land and houses were damaged in the district. With the help of district administration, rescue operations were carried out. Bantwal and Beltangady taluk had more impact due to the heavy rainfall.”
“The government should declare Beltangady taluk as worst affected by the disaster and at the same Kodagu model compensation should be given to the victims of Bantwal and Beltangady taluk. The same model should be provided for Bantwal and Belthangady taluk,” said U T Khader.
U T Khader further said, “Until the new house is constructed, house rent upto Rs 10,000 should be provided so that the victims can live in a rented house until the new house is constructed. Government should also provide agriculture package for damaged agricultural land and crop.”
