Bengaluru: Deve Gowda lauds Yediyurappa for flood relief work

Bengaluru, Aug 12: Former Prime Minister and national president of the JD (S), H D Deve Gowda, was all in praise for Karnataka chief minister, B S Yediyurappa. He was speaking to reporters at his party office here.

"Yediyurappa has been staying in flood-affected areas since the last five to six days. He has also been responding to problems of the people. We should not play politics by finding fault with him in the name of non-formation of the ministry," he opined.

He said Kumaraswamy has travelled to various flood-affected areas and listened to problems. He asked leaders of all the three major parties to come together and work to solve problems of the people. He sought interim relief of Rs 5,000 crore to the state to undertake flood relief measures. He also urged union ministers to take up aerial survey of destruction, identify the actual loss and respond to the problems of the people by releasing enough funds.

    Dodda Gowda should be thankful to Lord Brahma for his birth in India,,,,if he was born in China or North Korea ...he would have faced firing squad long back with Lalu, Pawar, Karunanidhi, Sonia, Mulayam. Yeddy ,Moily and many more ,...long back...

Need of the hour in the south Asian subcontinent is understanding each other's perspective, without which regardless of the intention, we have a major crisis brewing in a buffer zone with our neighbors in the north. We are in the 21st century, and need of the hour is building bridges.

    A namesake aerial survey with Amit Shah to get funds released is no flood relief work. What an ideal opportunity for BJP to get fund released due to floods. People will be lucky if they receive even .1% of their losses. BTW, these funds got released so quickly and in large sum in record time. During coalition govt it was very hard to come by and not even the quarter of that amount. Opportunity knocks at the door for BJP as people reel under flood devastation.
