Mangaluru, Aug 9: Netravati River, the lifeline of Dakshina Kannada district, is overflowing due to massive inflow of rain water into it. Water has already entered low-lying areas near the banks of the river.
DK deputy commissioner Sasikanth Senthil has issued a press release, asking residents in low-lying areas to immediately shift to safe areas, as the brimming river is flowing at a dangerous level.
The district administration and local officials are prepared to tackle any dangers that may be caused by rains and floods. The officials are already stationed in spots near the river where mishaps are likely to happen.
