Brahmavar, Aug 8: In a tragic incident that occurred at Benagal of Cherkady village of the taluk on the morning of Thursday, August 8, a woman, who was milking a cow, died when the mud wall of the cow shed collapsed on her.
Ganga Marakalti (52), wife of Koraga Markala, is the unfortunate victim who lost her life in this tragedy. The incident occurred at around 6.15 am on Thursday. The wall of the cowshed was moist due to the continuous rain of past few days. When Ganga was milking the cow, the wall suddenly collapsed on her. She got stuck in the rubble and was injured seriously.

Though she was rushed to the government hospital at Petri, she could not survive.
Brahmavar tahsildar Kiran Gauraiah and gram panchayat president visited the spot and investigated the matter.

Deputy commissioner (DC) Hephsiba Rani and district superintendent of police (SP) Nisha James visited the house of deceased Ganga Marakalthi, resident of Cherkady who died, when the mud wall of the cowshed collapsed on her Thursday on August 8 while she was milking a cow.
DC and SP examined the house and consoled the family members. DC Hephsiba instructed the Brahmavar Tahsildar Kiran to sanction government fund under natural calamity. She also expressed her concern on old houses and delicate cowsheds in the village and asked get them repaired as precautionary measure.
