Bantwal, Aug 5: MLA and former minister U T Khader has led from front and showed communal harmony by donating his own land of 20 cents to the Dalavayi family for Nagaradhane.
Khader owned a property a Pariyaltadka of the taluk. There was Nagabana on the land, which belonged to the Dalavayi family. The family members had requested the former minister to give the land to them so that they can conduct rituals for the Naga. They had also told that they are ready to buy the same from him. However, Khader showed exemplary communal harmony and charity by donating the same to the Dalavayi family without taking a penny from them.
Former minister Khader is believed to have said to the Dalavayi family members, "Do not pay anything to me for this land. You should not face any hurdles in conducting the religious ritual to the Nagabana. I will give the land for free." The land has got a well that has got abundant water in it. MLA Khader has donated that too and has shown his large heart.
"I have donated the land with the intention of paying respect to the tradition and culture of a religion. Our parents have taught us in the childhood itself to respect culture and tradition of others. I have donated this land with the motto of respecting other religions, while following mine," said former minister Khader.
The kind-heartedness of U T Khader is appreciated greatly by the Dalavayi family as well as the villagers of Vittal. In addition, the people of the district have praised the step taken by Khader, being a Muslim MLA, to upkeep the Hindu tradition.
