Abu Dhabi, Aug 5: After winning Dh 15 million (USD 4.08 million) Big Ticket raffle, Telangana farmer Vilas Rikkala’s good fortune story is doing rounds on social networking sites.
Rikkala tried hard to find a job in Dubai to make ends meet, but all his efforts to find a good job failed and he decided to return back to India. While returning, he decided to buy a ticket with the money that he borrowed from his wife. He handed over Rs 20,000 to his friend Ravi, who works in Abu Dhabi and asked him to buy Abu Dhabi raffle ticket.
As per reports, Rikkala was in for shock when he came to know that he had won the Dh 15 million (USD 4.08 million) Big Ticket raffle.
The couple lives with their two daughters at Jakranpalli village in Telangana’s Nizamabad district. Rikkala had previously worked as driver in Dubai and had been buying lottery tickets in the UAE for the past two years.
According to PTI source, Rikkala and his wife together have an annual income of about Rs 3,00,000, which they earn from tilling rice fields.
Many reports quoted Rikkala as saying that his wife Padma is the reason for the good luck and celebration.
