Mangaluru, Aug 4: First lady of the Lioness district Anitha Gomes inaugurated ‘Chiguru’ district cabinet installation of International association of Lions Club here at Milagres Church Hall on Saturday, August 3.
Addressing the gathering, Anitha Gomes said, "It is my privilege to be here in this wonderful installation ceremony. We need to organize lot more activities in coming years and I wish everyone a great year.”
District governor Ronald Gomes said, "We are much focused on environment as we need to plant at least one sapling to protect our environment. Our life will be better when we are happy. Our life will be best when others are happy because of us.”
Bishop of Mangaluru diocese, Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, said, "Lions Club has done tremendous work over the years in the district of Dakshina Kannada. I wish Ronald Gomes all the very best in his new office. It is good to see the Lions Club taking environment as their motto. I always stress upon environment. Even during my ordination, three saplings were planted. We have distributed many saplings to all the 124 parishes and in the last 20 days, we have distributed over 78,000 saplings,”
