Kolar, Aug 3: “Only Siddaramaiah is the best candidate for the post of opposition leader,” said former speaker Ramesh Kumar.
Speaking to reporters in Sugatur village in Kolar, he said that no discussions have been held with regard to the election of opposition leader. “What is spoken about it is only imagination,” he said.
“I have become Congress member once again. I will do what the party entrusts me to do. Siddaramaiah is the only suitable person to be the opposition leader in the current situation. His leadership is important to strengthen the party. Under him we can lead as an able opposition. The remaining matters will be discussed by the party members,” he said.
“If Yediyurappa is able to single-handedly develop the state, let him do so. I will not comment about it. They have cancelled Tipu Jayanti because they do not approve of it. They have formed a government in terms of the Constitution. Let him govern the state. We do not have problems if he governs the state. People are intelligent. They know what decisions need to be taken at different times,” he said.
