Mumbai: Semi-Ac rakes to be available for suburban networks by December

Mumbai, Aug 1: Couple of semi-Ac rakes will be considered to run on suburban network although there are challenges which cannot be overlooked by the railways. This initiative could lead to chaos mostly due to the coach configuration of rakes.

The coach positions are already marked on platforms and due to the semi-Ac rakes, passengers will have trouble finding their coach.

However, the rakes will be provided around September. The 12-car rake will consist of three AC coaches. But, trials will push the deployment till December.
