Bengaluru: Provocative speech - HC quashes case against Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat

Bengaluru, Jul 31: The high court quashed a case in which RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat was accused of making a provocative speech. 

Bhat had moved an appeal seeking the cancellation of the inquiry that was being conducted at the Bantwal court, based on the FIR that was registered at the Konaje police station. The single judge bench of justice P S Dinesh Kumar, which conducted the inquiry of the appeal filed by Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, ordered the quashing of the case. 

 

Election officer T Yogish had accused Bhat of making a provocative speech on April 6, 2018, when the latter had given a visit to Punyakoti Nagara Kairangala and violating the election code of conduct. Yogish had filed a complaint in this regard in the Konaje police station. The police, who conducted inquiry, had submitted a chargesheet to the Bantwal court. Prabhakar Bhat had submitted an appeal to the high court requesting the quashing of the case.

    A group of judges is always recommended over these single judge benches for deciding such sensitive cases in order to avoid any controversial judgements.

    I'd that is the case who decides sensitivity of the case? Sensitivity of the case depends on the interest of many reasons. So every case has tobeloojed by a bench?
