Panaji, Jun 5: Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) will have change in guard at the end of this month with industrialist Cesar Menezes replacing the current president Nitin Kunkolienkar.
The GCCI communication here has confirmed that Menezes has been unanimously elected as the President for the term 2009-2011. He will take over from Nitin Kunkolienker at the end of this month.
Kunkolienker has had a long stint of eight years at the helm of affairs.
“He has strengthened the Chamber and added a lot of assets to it. His success could be judged by the number of people who aspire to be on the Chamber’s Managing Committee for the new term,” the communication issued by GCCI’s Director General P K Pinto reads.
Menezes is the Chairman and Managing Director of Wallace Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd and Wallace Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. He is also the Chairman of Indi Pharma Pvt. Ltd. And Wallace USA, LLC., which owns Goodwin Biotech Inc, Florida, USA.
A well known figure in Goa he is the President of the Goa Management Association, Goa Yachting association, Board Sailing Association of India and Council member of the Yachting Association of India. He has been the past president of a number of other associations including the GPMA. He heads a number of Charitable Trusts which do a lot of social service, it adds.
