Panaji, Jul 5: The union ministry of health and family welfare on Thursday announced that the MBBS seats at the Goa Medical College (GMC) have been increased from 150 to 180 to facilitate the admission of economically weaker section (EWS). With this new move, the 64 general category seats, out of 150 MBBS seats, will go up.

“The post graduate seats of the medical college will be hiked in view of reservation for EWS, however, it has not been confirmed yet,” an official said, as per TOI report.

However, the official also added that they were hoping for an increase of 50 seats. “Since admissions for 150 seats have been completed, for the balance 30 seats, it will be done as per the merit list. Those at top of the waiting list will benefit,” he said.
