Bangalore, May 23: Through an order, BJP state president D V Sadanand Gowda has expelled ex-union minister, former MP and veteran party leader Basavanagouda Yatnal for a period of six years with immediate effect, for anti-party activities.
Yatnal had declared an open revolt against state Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa during the assembly election held last year. Disgruntled by the fact that he was not considered for being allotted with a ticket for this year’s Lok Sabha election, he had worked with the party dissidents B B Shivappa, Rama Bhat etc. Shivppa had later retraced his steps.
Yatnal had through various forums, also criticized the functioning of the state leadership of the party.
