Mangaluru, Jun 28: In a joint operation, police personnel of anti-rowdy squad and rural station here have succeeded in nabbing a murder- attempt accused relating to a case which happened at Mallur two months ago.
The arrested man happens to be Ansar (30) from Ulaibettu. He had escaped after launching serious attack on a person at Mallur. The accused already faces seven cases in the rural station here relating to communal clashes, cattle theft, murder attempt etc. He had been evading arrest since 2012 in these cases.
On coming to know that he was near Kannur, the police in an operation conducted on Wednesday, arrested him. On being produced in the court, he was remanded to judicial custody.
The operation was conducted by rural police inspector, Bhajantri and others under the guidance of assistant commissioner of police (south) Rama Rao, and directions of deputy superintendents of police Hanumantharaya and Laxmi Ganesh and city police commissioner Sandeep Patil.
