Cab driver found dead inside car in Vasco

Vasco, Jun 28: A 24-year-old taxi driver, identified as Damodar Yamnappa, who was missing since Wednesday night, was found dead inside his car parked on NH 17-B at Shantinagar, Vasco at around 1 pm on Thursday. While the locals suspect some sort of foul play, his family says that he died of some illness.

Yamnappa operated his taxi from Goa International Airport Dabolim and was last seen on Wednesday night when he dropped off a customer, as per TOI report. Worried he did not return by Thursday morning, his family searched for him. His father found him inside the car parked on the highway at Shantinagar at around 1 pm. The father broke the glass window when he found Yamanappa unconscious inside.

Later Vasco police shifted him to the district hospital where they declared him dead. The police have registered a case of unnatural death and preserved his body at Margao hospital.

A case of unnatural death has been registered under Section 174 of the CrPC. The body has been preserved at the Hospicio hospital, Margao and inquest proceedings have been initiated to establish the cause of death.
