New Delhi: Verbal friction between first time MPs from Karnataka at maiden appearance

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi (SP)

New Delhi, Jun 26: The Lok Sabha, on Tuesday, June 25, witnessed exchange of heated words between two first time and young MPs from Karnataka, Tejasvi Surya and Prajwal Revanna. The fluent expression of opinions in lucid language by many young leaders at the Lok Sabha also drew appreciation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Tejasvi Surya, who represents Bengaluru (south) Lok Sabha constituency, and Prajwal, who has been elected on JD(S) ticket from Hassan, not only gave enough evidence of their oratory skills but also tried to drag each other’s feet.

Narendra Modi, when moving motion of thanks on President's address, appreciated the first time MPs.

MP Prajwal Revanna raised the issue of water problem faced by Karnataka and farmer woes. He insisted that this problem should be tackled apolitically. He also referred to farmer suicides, and explained problems faced by agriculturists of Mandya district on water front.

Tejasvi Surya raised the topic of the IMA scam running into thousands of crores of rupees which was recently unearthed in Karnataka. He said that over ten thousand first information reports have been registered against the IMA kingpin and thousands have been cheated. He also termed the current government in Karnataka as the most corrupt.

Prajwal, who chose to hit back at Tejasvi, said that a special investigation team has been formed to investigate this scam and that the investigation is moving on right direction. He felt that Tejasvi Surya, his fellow parliamentarian, was not right in misleading the Lok Sabha. He called upon the leaders to find a lasting solution to water woes and farmer issues faced by Karnataka instead of indulging in dirty politics by alleging that the state government has been corrupt.

Prajwal Revanna seems to be parroting the tutored matter, which apparently too him over a month to understand and practice.
I googled extensively to find out his qualification and nowhere could I find any evidence his attending a primary school even.
Tejaswi Surya is a brilliant orator and means what he says. His father was Joint Commissioner of Excise. When he was a 9 yrs old student, he sold 17 of his paintings, collected ₹1,220 and donated it to the Army Kargil Relief Fund through his school principal. He was awarded the National Balashree Honour in 2001 and graduated from the prestigious Institute of Legal Studies, Bangalore, with a Bachelor of Academic Law & an LLB.
We will get to see in the coming days, who does what in the Parliament and in their respective constituencies.

The BJP MP Tejasvi Surya should first answer making use of a new trend of SLAPP Suits that barred the media from reporting allegations of sexual harassment leveled against him.

He was granted an interim ex-parte (without hearing the opposite party) temporary injunction, restraining 49 media houses and social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, from “making defamatory statements against the plaintiff in any manner in electronic and print media till the defendants file their objections”.

Secondly, his party should also answer why he intentionally left the Bellary Reddy's mining kickback and denotification of his own Karnataka president Yedurappa who spent 21 days in jail.

BJP MP Tejaswi Surya should first raise the issues of Karnataka which he represents rather than slamming the coalition government. Let him first focus on farmers and drought issue.

    Jai Hind

All talk and no work will make India a fools' paradise. Our PM is a talk master. Now two new MPs also have joined him. Only talk and hardly any work. BJP has proved this in parliament from 2014 onwards. God knows how long India would suffer under these talk masters.

Everything is fine about speaking by two young MPs in Parliament.. but there are hardly any MPs to listen their voice. Most of them are absent and left the place. What a pity

Raising voice against Karnataka Government is a part of Fekuism by BJP MP. Karnataka tax revenue for the country is more than any other state in India. If you are honest and want to show your oratory skills, please raise it against the 54000 mangroves which are going to cut in Maharastra for the Bullet train project. Yes you will not raise your voice because both in Maharastra and in National level your feku Government is in act.

MPs, whether young or old, are elected/well paid, for representing/fighting for the burning issues/problems being faced by their constituencies. Their sole aim should be to get justice for their constituency by way of sanction of new projects/completion of ongoing projects, and release of sufficient funds from the Government in power, at the centre, and follow up on the early/successful completion of the sanctioned projects.

As far as possible, there should not be vindictiveness/name-calling/mud-slinging/indulging in dirty politics during the Parliamentary discussions, which would lower the dignity of Parliament.

Tejaswi Surya while describing Karnataka government using many adjectives, has coined a new English word 'Uninsensitive'. This kinda reminded me of one Himalayan cave dweller commentor in this blog.

It's amazing to see "First time MPs" made their voice heard right from the beginning.

People of Coastal region, have still not realized that they have voted Two useless MPs for the second time from the region.

One can see no progress from both MPs from Mangalore and Udupi as well.

I saw this episode on the telly. Admittedly I feel sorry for the likes of Young Mithun Rai whose political career may be at a full stop. The wrong move of Congress getting into a coalition with JDS in the state is now slowly and clearly visible. A newcomer like Prajwal Revanna is a MP when Cong boys despite being much more capable have been sidelined or lost in the elections ,being rejected by unhappy people who dont support the coalition. JDS has reaped the benifits of the coalition when Cong is booted out. RaGa has got a lease of life due to a religious favor by the Wayanad clerics. What about the rest? Cong has to find answers to many questions. The days where Indians would vote for a 'fancy surname' is long gone . They require someone who works and delivers. When you have such a performing leader , local candidates are guaranteed victory as people vote for the leader. Revival is a far cry. This is my honest ad unbiased opinion.

L2 is a product of dynasty politics and Tejasvi became a leader out of his qualities and talent ....
