Bengaluru, Jun 26: “Back in 2017, a recommendation was submitted to Siddaramaiah led Congress government to take action against IMA. However, the then state government failed to act,” alleged former Union minister K Rahman Khan.
He was speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, June 25.
"It was no secret that IMA was a fraudulent company. The establishment was already raided by the income tax (I-T) department and enforcement directorate (ED). In 2017, a state-level coordination committee consisting of the chief secretary, state police chief, Bengaluru police commissioner and Bengaluru urban deputy commissioner had submitted a recommendation asking government to take action against IMA. This recommendation was based on the information given by the I-T department and ED," he said.
Khan questioned why the government failed to act, even though the activities of IMA were flagged down as suspicious. "If one needs proof, they can refer the committee's minutes of the meet," he asserted.
Rahman Khan denied that he has any ties with IMA or its chief.
