Mangalore, May 15: Mangalore Institute of Fire Safety Engineering is the lone government approved institution of Mangalore to impart diploma education in Fire Safety. It has now added another feather to its cap by signing an agreement with Karnataka State Open University.
The MIFSC recently signed an agreement with the State Open University for the conducting of Fire Tech Safety Management Diploma course. Through this, it has become only the 23rd institution in the country to have signed such an agreement with the university.
The agreement with regard to the conducting of the Fire Tech Safety Management diploma course was signed in the presence of Prof B A Vivek Rai, vice chancellor of Karnataka State Open University at the Manasa Gangotri, University’s head office.
Jayaprakash Rao, Open University registrar and Ando Paul, MIFSC chairman signed the agreement.
Prof Jagadish, University dean (academic) and Vinod K J, MIFSC managing director, were present on the occasion.
According to the agreement, MIFSC is the single authorized institute to conduct the course depending on the syllabus, schedule of examination etc., as provided by the Open University. Passing candidates will get the University certificate.
Prof B A Vivek Rai visited MIFSC campus to verify the infrastructure and other facilities provided in the college premises, before the execution of the agreement.
