Mangalore, May 14: Reacting to the agitation planned by Pradesh Samrakshana Vedike against the alleged ill-affects of Mangalore Special Economic Zone on the health, religious and cultural heritage of the region, Mangalore Special Economic Zone Ltd (MSEZ) has, through a press note, strongly refuted these allegations. It has said, the contentions made by the Vedike are not true and that the project is aimed at the all-round development of the region, making the country self-sufficient etc.
It also has claimed that the second phase of the MSEZ is intended for multi-product industries, generating lot of employment. The company has stressed, that it has never flouted the law of the country and has always respected religious sentiments. It also said, it will adhere by all the policies of the government.
MSEZ has asserted that it is totally different from the proposed PCPIR project.
