Bangalore, May 12: In a reversal of roles, lawyers on Monday locked up a head constable who had gone to the court premises to arrest a colleague of theirs.
Head constable Manjunath had gone to arrest lawyer Santhosh Kumar. But he was locked up in the Advocates' Association building in city civil and sessions court premises for over two hours, before senior officers rescued him. The advocates also manhandled and tore off his badge. The policeman is attached to the JP Nagar police station.
The incident took place at around 4.30 pm, when advocate Santhosh coaxed Manjunath to accompany him into the association building, since he had some work to finish. He assured Manjunath that he would go with him after finishing the work. However, other advocates took over the situation.
