Margao, Jun 18: Goa Forward Party (GFP) on Tuesday said that it agrees with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stand of ‘one nation, one election.’
Goa Forward Party chief and state deputy chief minister Vijai Sardesai told a gathering in Margao town on Tuesday that one election across the nation is need of hour to curtail the days wasted in Code of Conduct.
On Tuesday, the deputy chief minister said we should think about the idea of one nation, one election propagated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “There is truth in what he says. It will reduce the code of conduct days in the country,” he said.
Sardesai said that Code of Conduct injects laziness in the administration due to which the development hampers.

Speaking further, the deputy chief minister said that the coastal state should look at new revolution by thinking about the challenges laid ahead.
“Since the liberation, Goa has progress. But at the same time, we are encountering new challenges like garbage,” he said.
Sardesai said that the people should work with government to solve the problem like garbage.
At the same time, he said, the challenge is also to have green and hospitable state, which is essential to attract more tourists.
“Our tourism grows because of our hospitality. But we need to think whether our hospitality has remained the same or we need to fine tune it? That is a challenge of modern world. We are competing with other states. If we want to compete with them we have to retain our friendly behaviour,” he added.
“We should also have green revolution. We should keep Goa green. There are schemes for community farming, mechanization. Now a new law will come up on contract farming. We want a clean Goa,” he said.
The deputy chief minister said that the challenge is for green revolution. “We need to have glamour in the agriculture sector. We can get it through agri-tourism. All these thoughts are with the government. We should have a positive attitude,” he added.
