Mangalore, May 11: An Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat leader named Suvratraj Shetty (26) was stabbed at Ulaigudde near Gurpur on the night of Saturday May 9, by two miscreants who came in a motor bike.
Suvratraj was speaking to his friend when the two motor bike-borne youths came from behind and stabbed his back. The motor bike was confiscated by the policemen. The Bajpe policemen have taken into custody the suspected persons. Reportedly, Suvratraj was returning from attending a Nemotsav in Gurpur and the friend with whom he was chatting, had recently suffered fracture of both the hands.
Suvratraj was saved, it is learnt, as he suddenly bent at the last minute. As a result, the knife aimed at his neck, pierced the back. He is now being treated in a private hospital here.
