Sullia, May 11: In an incident that occurred at Yenekal near Subrahmanya, Navin (18), son of Paramale Shivaram Gowda, a student of the arts section of Subrahmanya PU College, committed suicide after watching his result on the internet and realizing that he had failed in the examination. After dinner on Saturday, he committed suicide by hanging himself from a cashew tree located near his home when other family members were sleeping. The incident came to light on Sunday morning.
He is survived by parents and two elder sisters. Subrahmanya police personnel have registered a case.
In the other incident, Shaktivelu (48), a resident of Jayanagar area of the town, committed suicide on Sunday, by hanging himself. He was frustrated over the failure of his daughter to clear the pre university examination. This case was registered by the local policemen.
