Mangalore, May 10: The valedictory ceremony of the summer camp conducted at Sandesha Foundation for Culture and Education was held at Sandesha Kalabhavan on Saturday May 9.
Fr Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary, presided over the ceremony and wished all success to the children who participated in the camp.
He said that children must be encouraged to sharpen their talent in whatever field they are interested in.
About 275 students participated in the music, art, and crafts classes.
Students from the district as well as those from Chikmagalur, Shimoga, and Goa participated in the camp.
Some of the parents expressed happiness that they had sent their children to the summer camp. The camp began on Monday April 20.
Bharatahanatyam, Carnatic vocal, guitar, keyboard, and drums classes were all part of the courses held during the camp. Public speaking and spoken English classes were also arranged during the camp.
All the students gave various performances and art displays were organized to showcase what each had learned during the camp.
Fr Valerian Mendonca, director, Sandesha Foundation, Roy Castelino, president, Konkani Prachar Sanchalan, as well as advocate and politician Ivan D’Souza were present.
