Mangalore: ‘Me and My Coast’ at Orchid Art Gallery from May 5

Mangalore, May 4: ‘Me and My Coast’, a 21-day art exhibition by veteran artist Peter A Lewis will be held at The Orchid Art Gallery here from Tuesday May 5. The event has been organized by the gallery.
 
Addressing media persons at the Press Club here on Monday May 4, William Pais, director of the gallery, said the show would be inaugurated by the Bishop Henry D’Souza of Bellary.

The show will include about 40 exhibits on culture and life along the coast. Gisselle D Mehta who is the curator of the exhibition will be the chief guest.

She will also launch the website of the gallery www.orchidartindia.com during the inaugural ceremony.
 
Pais said that Lewis had organized about 70 shows throughout the world.
 
Lewis said that painting lovers can buy art through installment schemes. The paintings are priced between Rs 13,000 and Rs 7 lac.

He added that it was difficult to fix a rate for paintings. “Spreading the message of the coastal culture through art is the major objective of the exhibition”, he added.
 
The show will be on till Monday May 25.
