Mangaluru, Jun 6: In connection with the International Yoga Day, a free yoga camp was inaugurated on June 3 at Amrita Vidyalayam, Boloor.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest Madhusoodhana Bhat S, assistant commissioner of Customs Kannur International Airport and guest of honour, Patanjali Yoga Samithi president, Bejai Jagadeesh Shetty.
Speaking on the occasion the chief guest said the youth of today have to instil Yoga Abhyas as a regular regime and encourage the students to uphold the cultural and age old tradition by participating in the Yoga and Meditation classes.
The free yoga camp will be from June 3 to 21 and the classes will be conducted in two sessions. Morning classes for men will be done by Yoga Guru Rajesh Naik and evening ladies batch will be conducted by Yoga Guru Bharathi Shetty.
Senior teacher Naina Shetty welcomed the gathering and Shruthi Rao compered the programme. Senior principal Ramchandra Bhat briefed about the importance of yoga in the school and said it is a matter of great pride to know that Yoga originated in India and now spread over countries all over the world.
