Panaji, Jun 5: Goa Government plans to set up new citizen service centres to deliver fast and hassle-free documents and services for the transport and revenue departments. With the news centres coming up in Honda, Margao, Ponda, Canacona, Quepem and Sanguem, the Government plans to provide a complete service for those who are not internet-savvy and who do not want to make multiple trips to the transport and revenue departments.

Inaugurating the centres Minister for IT Rohan Khaunte assured a convenient assistance on filling forms and timely collection of certificates. “With these centres, allegations of corruption and harassment will stop,” Khaunte said.

“The public is continuously going to the mamlatdar’s office and being harassed. These service centres will be the interface with the government. The public will not have to meet the government officer concerned. They will just have to visit the service centre and fill the form,”he added.

As per TOI report Chief minister Pramod Sawant said “The government is for the common people. We want services to reach all people with minimum efforts and fast services.”

IT secretary Ameya Abhyankar said that once a citizen applies for a service from any of the centres, the citizen will receive a message when the certificate is ready, and he can then go collect it.
