After returning from school, Aditya Singh, according to police, went to the locality near his home to play with his friends and fell into the 12-foot trench filled with water.

As the boy was missing, his mother made a frantic search and found his body floating in the trench. Hearing the cries of her, the local residents rushed and retrieved the body with the help of fire brigade. "A probe is on to find out if the boy was playing with friends or local children, and if anyone saw him falling in," a police officer said.
