Udupi, Jun 3: Popular talents from coast gathered on a single stage at Nutana Ravindrakala mantapa, MGM College in the city on Sunday, June 2 and entertained the audience by their distinct performances in Aparanji programme.
Unique concept Aparanji, a fountain of talent from coast, banner was unveiled by former MP Jayaprakash Hegde.
In his address to the gathering, J P Hegde said, “Such recognition of incredible talents will encourage the next generation. Growing talents will identify their skills. I am honoured to be a part of this programme.”
“If a politician shows more interest in literature, arts and service rather than politics, probably he could live as a common man in society,” J P Hegde added.
Actress, celebrity anchor and Mrs India-2017 Soujanya Hegde also shared the stage.
The artists presented painting, portray in Rubics cube, saxo-phone and musical jugalbandi in the event.
The programme began with devotional song ‘Sathyam Shivam Sundam’ title track, sung by popular play back singer Vishnavi Ravi. She is first runner-up of ‘Udaya Singer’ 2013. She has rendered her voice to the Tulu movies ‘Appe teacher’ and ‘Umil’.
A beautiful Yakshagana dance was performed by 11-year-old Guiness world record holder Thanushree Pithrody. She is a renowned yoga talent, who holds the Guinness World Record for the ‘Most full body revolutions maintaining a chest stand in one minute’.
Professional playback singer Dr Abhishek Rao enthralled the audience by singing ‘Chand Sifarish’ from the movie Fanaa. He is also a semi-finalist of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa - season 15, winner of ‘Indian Idol - Top 90-2012’, ‘Mangaluru idol’ 2014 and ‘Voice of Udupi-2014’.
Young saxophonist from Udupi Anjali Shanbogue, stole the hearts of audience by her soulful rendering. She started her music career at the age of eight. She has performed in more than 2000 shows and plays different genres of music like Bollywood, fusion, devotional and classical.
Karavali Star fame and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa semi-finalist Rajath Maiya increased feelings towards the mother land through his singing of the Kannada song ‘Navaduva Nudiye Kannada nudi’. He is the winner of singing reality shows at Beach festival, ‘Voice of Karavali – 1’ and ‘Sangeetha samara-1’. He has given more than 500 stage shows.
KGF movie playback singer Aira Acharya and Anjali sang a duet.
Prithveesh K, a Rubik speed cuber did the image of Hazi Abdullah, using 400 cubes, in just few minutes. He trains students to solve Rubik cube and puzzles and recently created a Guinness World Record.
Pradeesh K, a speed painting artist and known for his live performance. He made portrait of Yakshagana artist using threads. He holds national and world records for speed painting and is known as an experimental artist. He does art using brush spray, thread, sand, salt, coffee, tea, grains and artwork by leg and blindfold.
The performers were felicitated by the organizers for their incredible show.
Coastal ace anchor Avinash Kamath added colour to the event by his lively anchoring style.
Shreyas Kotian compered the stage programme. M G Vijay, principal of MGM College was present.
Apart from the entertainment, the team has raised funds for Ajith Shetty, a final year degree student, who has lost his right hand in the accident recently. He hails from the poor family.
