Mangaluru, Jun 3: In connection to St Anthony’s Feast, third day of the novena was held at St Anthony’s Ashram Chapel, Jeppu on Sunday, June 2.
Fr Arun Lobo, director of counseling centre of the diocese offered the Holy Mass. On this Sunday, Catholics all over the world celebrate the Ascension of Lord Jesus into heaven.
In his homily, Fr Arun said, “On the feast of ascension Jesus ascended into heaven forty days after He rose from death. Resurrected Jesus and His ascension into heaven is a hope to all mortal humans that life does not end with death but death becomes a passage to heaven. On the third day of the novena the Holy Mass was offered for the intention of children.He called on the children to take Jesus as their model and strive to attain heaven by living a life that is pleasing to God and helpful to human beings in the society.”
Fr Onil D’Souza, director of the ashram conducted the novena. Fr Roshan D’Souza the assistant director recited the chaplet and the rosary. Fr Thrishan D’Souza was present on the occasion. Hundreds of devotees participated in the devotion.
