Mangalore, Apr 21: A statewide ‘Voters Awareness Caravan’ launched by the J H Patel Foundation arrived in the city on Tuesday April 21.
The caravan led by the former chief minister’s sons Mahima Patel and Thrisulapaani Patel has already traveled across various cities of the state including Bangalore, Kolar, Chitradurga, Bellary, Gulbarga, Belgaum, and Udupi.
Addressing press persons at the Hotel Woodlands here, Mahima Patel said, “The prime objective of the caravan is to create awareness about politics among intellectuals, litterateurs, and thinkers who are the core sections of the society. The foundation held dialogues, discussions, and meetings with them during the campaign and will also organize these in other cities”.
He said that the caravan would appeal to the voters to cast their precious franchise for eligible candidates. Mahima Patel added that an eligible candidate can be measured by the work he does under the rule of law and similarity in his speech and deeds.
Former MLA Patel claimed, “The caravan has found that people desire a change in the political arena. Youth, especially students have shown interest in discussions and gave us numerous suggestions.”
Asking people to vote only for those candidates who have respect for the law, he said that they are contemplating to strengthen their Swarna Yuga Party by the next assembly elections in the state.
Praveen Kumar, Dasthagiri, Arun Kumar, and Muhammadh Habibullah were present.
