Mumbai, May 8: Rahul Mishra, a 24-year-old youth, was found hanging at his rented flat in Palghar district on Monday. It was said that his room-mates had taken his nude pictures without his knowledge when he was high after a binge drinking and later threatened and blackmailed him showing the pictures.

Vangaon police registered a case of accidental death. The police officials are questioning his room-mates for further details.

As reported in TOI, A few weeks back Mishra and his friends were having party in his flat. Mishra, after consuming too much of alcohol went off to sleep. When he woke up next morning his friends explained him about yesterday’s incidents and showed him his nude picture. Though Mishra took it as a joke, his friends blackmailed him for money and threatened to upload it on social media.

Police said that the roommates threatened to make the photographs go viral on Sunday and this prompted Mishra to commit this terrible act. When the room-mates left for work on Monday, he excused himself. He was later found hanging from the ceiling of the flat.

Police took the cellphones of the two room-mates in which Mishra’s photographs and his messages to his room-mates pleading with them to delete the pictures were found. Police has sent his body for autopsy to ascertain the cause of death and his family members have been informed.
