Udupi, May 1: The government women and children’s hospital functioning on poet Muddanna road here is demolished for renovation. Private party has started hospital construction in its place. Mud from the demolished structure is being transported in several tippers via poet Muddanna road that is dense with traffic and pedestrians without covering the mud with tarpaulin or other covers.

The dust from the exposed mud on the tippers is disastrous for human life. It spoils eye sight, can cause asthma and accidents. The road is covered by dust.

Social activist Nithyananda Olakadu and Taranath Mestha Shirur have warned of mass protests if the police department, municipal council, department of health and district administration does not take immediate action to prevent the practice.
