Puttur, Mar 31: Swabhimani Vedike, a splinter group of BJP that has revolted away from its parent party BJP under the leadership of Urimajal Rama Bhat has accused the BJP of being the 'champin of trust-breachers' by failing to keep up its promises made during the discussions its leaders had with the Vedike honorary president Rama Bhat.
"As far as breach of trust is concerned, the BJP has over-shadowed the levels of the Deve Gowda-Kumaraswamy caucus. The BJP has broken the promises of stopping the interference of Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat in the party affairs, re-establishing of internal democracy in the party and providing suitable positions for those expelled from the party and thus betrayed us," explained Vedike general secretary Amala Ramachandra, addressing a press conference held here on Saturday March 28.
"Ram Bhat is not fighting against the BJP but against the leaders, who have been blinded by lust for power, who have thrown the principles and policies of the party to the winds and those who want their own wishes to prevail in the party," he claimed.
The issue of denial of ticket to ex-MLA Shakuntala Shetty is still relevant. The Vedike is pitted against a caucus of evil leaders who have become authoritarians. Corrupt practices like Operation Kamala, politics of swearing in the name of the God and then breaking it and the activities of Shobha Karandlaje have spoiled the image of the BJP. The issues of Hindutva and nationalism have slipped to the oblivion and fake Hidutva is now ruling the roost, he alleged.
Vedike city unit president Bellippady Subhash Rai was present at the press conference.
