Panaji, Apr 29: While BJP finalized its candidate Sidharth Kuncalienker for the Panaji bypoll, former chief minister Manohar Parrikar’s son Utpal, said that he is ready to accept the party’s decision without any objection.

"I have been saying from day one that whatever the party decides, I will comply with that," Parrikar junior told news agency ANI.

“Anyone entering electoral politics faces hurdles, especially if one wants to do clean work. My father also faced such hurdles.

“I will work with full zest for the candidate Sidharth Kuncalienker. The party has also told me this. If I want to move forward, this is a hurdle, but without getting disheartened and by learning from it, one has to move forward with the party’s decision.”

He said while backing BJP’s decision, “I have gone around Panaji for the past 15 days and have seen a connection between the party workers and Bhai. I could see it in their eyes, as they would well up. I will meet those who wanted me to enter the fray and convince them to work for the party candidate.”

He also added that he gives more importance to maintain his connection with the people. "Election will come and go. More important is to maintain connections with the people and I will work towards that."
