Margao, Apr 17: The Dogears Bookshop in the city will organise a programme to mark World Book Day on April 28 at 9.30 am, at Ravindra Bhavan, here, to celebrate the literary heritage of Goan state.
Harsh Mander, activist and author of several books including, Fractured Freedom: Chronicles from India’s Margins and Looking Away: Inequality, Prejudice and Indifference in New India, will deliver the keynote address. Mander works with survivors of mass violence and hunger, as well as homeless persons and street children. He is the director of the Centre for Equity Studies.
There will also be a panel discussion on the topic 'Development of a Reading Culture in Goa: Opportunities and Challenges', followed by the release of a couple of books.
The programme is open to all.
