Puttur, Mar 18: If the BJP has reduced itself into a caste and community-based political party, the Congress has become a burning house. Hence, the Bahujan Samaj Party is the only hope of India, which can enable people to lead a peaceful life if risen to power. For India to progress, Mayawati must become the prime minister of the country, said Girish Rai, Mangalore Lok Sabha candidate from the Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP), speaking at the party meeting held here on Tuesday March 17.
“Every political party should have been founded with the noble aim of serving the people and not with the lust for power. Power is the key to achieve progress of the country and development of the country is only possible with the sincere efforts of Mayawati,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, M Koosappa, general secretary, BSP, expressed the view that the BJP and the Congress are the two sides of the same coin. Both the parties cannot develop the country at any cost either now or in the future, Rai opined.
Madhava Bavikatte, president, Puttur assembly constituency, presided over the programme.
