Panaji: Vidyadhiraj Puraskar awarded to T V Mohandas Pai

Panaji, Apr 9: Shri Vidhiraj Theerth Swamiji of Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Math handed over Vidyadhiraj Puraskar Award of 2018 to T V Mohandas Pai in the presence of Patta Shishya Sri Vidyadhish Swamiji.

President of Central Math Committee Srinivas V Dempo made his welcome speech and mentioned about Vidyadhiraj Puraskar and Jeevottam Awards. Puttu Pai introduced T V Mohandas Pai and his philanthropic activities to the crowd. Vice president of the Math R R Kamat, Ramadas Kamath U and Pradeep G Pai were on the dais.

After receiving the award, Mohandas Pai said, “I am honoured with this Vidyadhiraj Puraskar award. I request Swamijis to get youth to the Math. We should see that our younger generations follow our tradition and culture. We should not forget our mother tongue Konkani and our culture. We also should see that there should be no poor person in Konkani community.”

At the same function Jeevottam Award was conferred on Nagar Rayappa Nayak and H Ganesh Kamath of Ganguli for their service to the Math.

Patta Shishya Shree Vidyadhish Swamiji while addressing praised the work of Akshaya Patra Foundation to feed over 17 lac students all over the country and Vishwa Konkani Scholarship for which Mohandas Pai’s Vision is reason. Shree Vidyadhiraj Theertha Swamiji blessed T V Mohandas Pai and his sons Pranav and Siddharth.

A large crowd had arrived from Goa state North Kanara, Udupi and South Kanara districts of Karnataka. Anil Pai compered the programme.
