Kundapur, Mar 12: Shimoga Lok Sabha candidate from the BJP B S Raghavendra, son of state chief minister B S Yeddyurappa said, that the state BJP government has achieved in eight months what the other government failed to achive in the last 60 years. The government has taken up initiative of educating the poor people, which will ensure that they will not go hungry in the future. The government is aware, that taking care of today's hunger alone does not provide them with a lasting solution, he explained.
He started his campaign for the Loksabha election from Sri Shivashankari temple located in Saukoor Dalit Colony in Gulwady in the taluk. He promised that he would give priority to solve the problems the people of the region are facing and try to provide employment to the youth.
BJP leader A G Kodgi and Byndoor MLA K Lakshminarayan who were present, asked the party workers to strive for the victory of the party. Temple Construction Committee president Vakwady Shivaram Shetty, P B R Shetty, temple ex-trustee Bijri Rajiv Shetty and honorary president Sheena were present.
Raghavendra also said that his father was against his candidature. "In spite of this, I was forced to enter the fray because of the united demand of the BJP leaders from Shimoga constituency," he clarified.
