Panaji, Apr 5: The former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar's sons Utpal and Abhijat recently made a declaration on their entry into politics soon after the Lok Sabha polls were announced on March 30. Much heated discussions were making rounds in Congress regarding their declaration.

Though Congress spokesperson Trajano D'Mello pointed that the party is not worried about the entry of Manohar Parrikar's sons into politics, the party’s take on this was not on a positive note. The Congress also claimed that 'expression of intent' by the late Chief Minister's sons about joining politics does not mean that they have actually hit political ground.

In a recent conference D'Mello said, "It is not legacy, it is dynasty. Let the people of Goa see how dynasty is coming forward."

Meanwhile, BJP is working hard on all possible ways to fill the destitute left by former chief Minister Manohar Parrikar when he succumbed to advanced pancreatic cancer after a prolonged time of suffering. For a section of the party's leadership, the hope also extended to his sons to take over the mantle.

“Let them first get the grip of politics and then we will decide whether to welcome them or work hard to defeat them,” He said at a press conference.

He also said BJP in Goa was in the process of building dynasties, citing the case of Joshua D’Souza, the party’s candidate for the Mapusa assembly by-poll, son of the late Francis D’Souza, former deputy chief minister who died in February.
