Mangaluru, April 2: Police commissioner Sandeep Patil who is trying to bring about discipline in city traffic is taking strict action against traffic violations.
Traffic police have registered 272 cases of driving under the influence of liquor in the city in the last four days. 422 cases of obstructing pedestrians by parking vehicles on zebra crossing, 144 cases of shrill horns of buses and 186 cases of tinted glass are registered. 212 vehicles parked on no parking zones and obstructing traffic are towed away.
94 cases of transport, mud, stones etc on lorries without covering them with tarpaulins, 212 cases of driving beyond speed limits and careless driving are also registered.
Commissioner Sandeep Patil has tweeted to follow traffic rules.
