Man held in cheating case flees from Mumbai court premises


Mumbai, Mar 31(PTI): A 28-year-old man accused in a cheating case Sunday escaped from court premises in Bhoiwada in central Mumbai when he was taken there for extension of remand, police said.

Niranjan Rajput was recently arrested from Gujarat in a cheating case filed at Bhandup police station in the metropolis, an official said.

"His remand period got over on Sunday so he was to be produced in Bhoiwada court for its extension. However, Rajput pushed aside a constable accompanying him and escaped from there," he said.

A case has been registered against Rajput and efforts were on apprehend him, he added.

    This culprit did not escape without the help of POlice. Maharashtra police are always helping such criminals for money. They are not honest.
