Dubai, Mar 31: March 27 is the dedicated day for theater artistes worldwide. To mark this occasion many theater activities and plays happen beyond geographical boundaries. Dhwani artistes too celebrated this day with full involvement in Dubai on March 27.
Speaking on the occasion Dubai’s Kannada amateur theater artiste Arathi Adiga briefed about International Theater Institute (ITI), its centers and activities, also about birth and history of World Theater Day and its purpose. Each year one countries noted theater personality gives important and significant message. This year Cuba’ s famous theater veteran Pro Carlos caldron gave the message. In 2002, an Indian got the opportunity to give the message. Indian theaters living legend Girish Karnad explained birth of India’s first drama and birth of natya shastra in his message.
Addressing the gathering chief guest of the event senior literature and theater enthusiast Sudhakar Pejavar urged to understand the hardships of theater productions and artists and highly appreciated Dhwani artistes’ effort in staging Indian great classic plays.
Vasu Bayaru a senior theater actor spoke on the occasion and expressed his own experiences and opinions on changing presentation style of theater to attract audience.
Prakash Rao Payyar president of Dhwani Pratishtana and director of Dhwani Dramas talked about different types of drama. He told that plays should not be considered only for entertainment it should be used for mental and spiritual evaluation.
Dhwani artistes presented mono acts, mimicry, dance and singing to celebrate the day dedicated to them. Artists K V Adiga, Vinay Pujar, Adeshhassana, Narasimhan, Rudrayya, Ashok Anchan, Sapna Kiran and Vasu Bayar performed on cultural programme.
The programme started with prayer from Adeshhassana and Rudrayya Navali Hiremutt comperes the programme.
