New Delhi, Feb 21: Indian archers won 10 medals, including four gold, on the second day of the first Asian Grand Prix Championship in Bangkok. 

With the four gold, two silver and four bronze medals won on the second day on Friday, India's medal tally in the five-day event which started on February 19 swelled to 15 (five gold, three silver and seven bronze).

On the first day, they had won one gold, one silver and three bronze medals.

Indian men's trio of Rahul Banerjee, Atanu Das and Hemanta Basumatary were on target to clinch the yellow metal in the team event of 70m men's recurve FITA Round with 1975 points well ahead of Japan (1957) and Malaysia (1898).

Their female counterparts of Renu Munda, Jhanu Hansda and Namita Yadav bagged gold in the recurve team event.

The other two gold medals were won by the women's compound team and Atanu Das in men's recurve individual event.

It was a creditable performance by junior archer Atanu who beat World Cup silver medallist fellow India's Rahul Banerjee and Olympic medallist Yamamoto Hiroshi of Japan to win the yellow metal.

Altogether 140 archers from 20 countries are participating in the event.
