Kundapur, Mar 11: Mubeena (24), wife of Sayyed Siddique, resident of Hosangadi has filed a complaint against her husband and others accusing them of harassment for dowry.

Mubeena had married Sayyed Siddique (26) in the community marriage event that was held at Ucchila Sunni Center on December 4, 2016. The family of Mubeena had given 10 sovereign of gold as dowry, in addition to the eight sovereign of gold from the Sunni Center.

Mubeena went to Bhadravathi to live with her husband's family. Within one month of living with her husband's family, she was allegedly tortured physically and mentally by the accused Sayyed Ahmed, Sapprabi, Sayyed Farakh, Rukhsar Jabeen, Sabiha Banu, Mohammed Mehboob, Sirijan Mehboob and Akram Maulana asking her to bring Rs two lac more dowry from her parents as per the complaint filed in the police station.

Mubeena gave birth to a baby boy. In 2018, the accused people forced her to divorce Siddique and threatened Mubeena with murder if she does not agree for Sayyed Siddique to marry another woman.

It is alleged that Sayyed has taken 17 sovereign gold of Mubeena and is living with a woman called Sabiha. When Mubeena protested this behaviour of her husband, both Mubeena and the child were brought to Hosangadi in a vehicle and were pushed out of it and fled. It is alleged in the complaint that the accused are planning to get Sayyed Siddique to one more woman secretly.

    Police should investigate the issue and culprits should be arrested immediately and jailed. All concerned culprits should be given harsh punishment. They are not human beings and should be jailed in Andaman.
