Mumbai, Mar 7: The ladies wing of Kannada sangha, here celebrated its annual friendly get-together at Mysore association auditorium, Matunga east chaired by its vice president Dr S K Bhavani.
Chief guest, organizer and social worker Savitha Nayak Vashi and building committee executive president Kamalaksha Saraf were chief guest and guest of honor respectively.
Savita Nayak said that unity is necessary for growth of an association. “Everybody should spend some time for the growth of the sangha. Women should pay attention to the health of society along with that of house people.”
Dr Bhavani said that a woman will be able to achieve her position only when she identifies herself.
Kamalaksha Saraf called on everybody to cooperate toward the new building of the sangha.
Ladies wing president Rajani V Pai welcomed the gathering and gave an introductory address. Office bearers Sathish N Bangera, Somanath Karkera, Sudhaker C Poojary, library head S K Padmanabha, executive committee members Narayan Rao, Sandhya Prabhu, Malati Acharya, members, Kannada fans and donors were present.
Noopura academy artistes Sandhya Ajith Kamath and group performed dances. Shamala Radhesh troupe sang songs. Lalitha Angadi presented comedy and poetry. Prafulla Rao introduced the guests. Vice president Narmada Kini compered the programme. Executive committee member Sudha G Pai proposed the vote of thanks.
