PM claims credit for completing projects in Karnataka

Kalaburagi, March 6 (IANS): Accusing the Congress of delaying infrastructure projects and development schemes in Karnataka's northern district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday claimed credit for completing them during the last five years.

"The Congress, which ruled this backward district for decades, could not complete many projects and schemes. But since you elected me as Prime Minister in 2014, I hastened to complete them," Modi told a BJP rally here.

Referring to the income tax exemption up to Rs 5 lakh, announced in the Interim Budget for fiscal 2019-20, Modi said that tax free income gave relief to thousands of lower and middle class families.

In this context, Modi said his government had on Tuesday announced the regular pension for workers in the informal sector under the 'Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhana Yojana' at Gandhinagar in Gujarat.
