Bangalore, Feb 12: Former deputy chief minister Siddaramaiah, who has been seething with discontentment over not being accommodated in a position befitting his stature by the Congress top brass, has a reason to smile. He is likely to be made the leader of the opposition in the assembly.
Reportedly, Mallikarjun Kharge, who currently holds the post of the leader of opposition in the assembly, has agreed to enter the fray as a Congress candidate for the Loksabha election from Gulbarga constituency. The central leaders are said to have assured Siddaramaiah that he will step into the shoes of Kharge once he leaves the post within about a month's time.
